Europe at my playground III
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: Oct 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project "Europe at my playground III" will last from 1st July until 31 August 2016. It involves 4 volunteers: two from Italy and two from Georgia. These volunteers will run 6-week workshops with youth from 11-16 years old. Kids involved in those classes will be kids from impoverished districts of Wrocław, where they have limited access to non-formal education and spend their holiday's time without any organized classes and activities. Space to conducting workshops provided ngos and insitutions from Wrocław - Infopunkt-Nadodrze Łokietka 5, Kontury Kultury, Fundacja Art Transparent. Our volunteers will be young people who are involved (in any way) in youth work, willing to face new challenges, gain new experiences and full of creative ideas. Within two-week preparation with experienced trainers and youth workers volunteers will prepare author workshop plan, which they will realise during their service. We would like the classes to bring such topics as citizen's awareness, ecology, intercultural dialogue, art and science. In the evaluation forms many of the participants "Europe at my playground" was expressed very enthusiastic about art workshops and generally about art, repeatedly emphasizing the are willing to participate in them. So we would like focus our activities on that kinds of workshops. The main idea of the project is to bring Europe to playground's of Wroclaw, to those who cannot access it by themselves. Through actions of our volunteer we also want to widen youth's perception of the world, fight against stereotypes and arouse their creative thinking. Through contact with new cultures and languages we want to offer the youth active holidays, motivate them to learn new languages and encourage to rediscover educational process. What is more, we want to promote the idea of European Voluntary Service and volunteering itself and we are hoping that one day some of the participating youth will decide to go abroad and help others. In our project we will use such methods as: teambuilding, team work, working on a movie, music, photography, picnic organization, workshops, sport games, contests. The result of our project will be photoblog created by volunteers and participants of the summer school, where they will be share their joint adventures, workshops and visited locations. We hope that the next edition of "Europe at your playground" will be equally successful and attractive as the two previous one, and the project will become our regular event, which will be waiting impatiently local community and volunteers!
