Europe 2020: offering new perspectives and incentives for young people
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

As shown by its title " Europe-2020: offering new perspectives and incentives for young people", this project intends to boost young people's opportunities in society by contributing to enhance those skills which will be necessary for them to succeed in 2020 Europe and which will facilitate their access to quality employment no matter what the gender or social background is. Given the characteristics of the project, this time the number of participants and nationalities is four: Germany, Italy, The Netherlands and Spain. Combining the experience gathered by each participating institution in the field of Secondary Education and European programmes, as well as in terms of fostering equal opportunities, fighting gender stereotypes and developing professional or technical competences, including digital competence and language proficiency, we will work in order to widen the range of possibilities our students have both at a local and a transnational level. Activities and ideas such as organization of "Boys' and Girls' days" "Using cloud computing application and storage services" or"creating your own company" will be shared with the rest of participants, and enhanced by participants' contributions. Nevertheless, this project aims at take advantage of this previous experience but concentrating specifically on promoting labour skills, employability and gender equality as a way to reduce social exclusion and inequality among young people. During the three- year-period, the project will last, there will be multilateral and bilateral meetings, where pupils, teachers and stakeholders representatives will be invited to take part in . To facilitate good communication and the exchange the materials, a Twinspace within the European portal Etwinning will also be created. Among the activities programmed, we can mention the design of step-by-step guides related to the work field (how to succeed in an interview or how to start your own company), the celebration of a Company Fair, the recording of interviews and documentaries, research (regulations and job offer in participating countries) and analysis of surveys, the establishment of collaboration networks or the realization of different workshops to familiarize pupils with new IT services and tools (cloud computing services, mobile applications, etc.) As to its expected impact among pupils, here are some of the main results: - Pupils will be better qualified and feel more comfortable when trying to find a job in another foreign country; as they will be well informed about regulations and qualifications and they will have certain experience in handling job interviews, preparing CVs, etc. - - -Pupils will also be more digitally competent, especially in terms of cloud computing applications (wordprocessing, spreadsheets and other business productivity apps)and cloud storage services. They will have also been given insights into developing cloud-based applications for mobile devices, which will increase their possibilities of finding a better job or starting their own business in the near-future. - Pupils' command of foreign languages will also be boosted during the length of the project, which will also enhace their possibilities of finding a better job within EU or outside. - The project activities will also influence pupils' overview of EU job market, making them more aware of their chances and as well as more motivated to prepare for that near future. Pupils will better assess their situation and the wide variety of technical and non-technical job opportunities existing; therefore, they may feel driven/compelled to study and specialize in those fields they find more appealing. Once the project finishes, we expect its effects to endure: on the one hand, the project's activities and results will remain easily accessible in the long term, as each of the school's project websites will be maintained. On the other hand, the personal networks established during the project will survive and facilitate future contacts and job internships.
