Bjergsnæs Efterskole has 156 pupils aged 15-17 distributed on 9th and 10th grade and 33 employees. The project is dedicated to the school's 33 employees. The school's profile is gymnastics, sports and creative arts. Bjergsnæs Efterskole maintains a high academic level, focusing on the professional and personal development of each student. Bjergsnæs Efterskole builds on Grundtvig and Kold's ideas on philosophy of life. The school has a structured and safe environment as a framework for an open and challenging meeting between people. Active participation in a binding community is the school's starting point in forming democratic people that take active part in a European environment. The Lithuanian partner school has many years of experience in both Nordic and European cooperation, and the partner school will be able to add Bjergsnæs Efterskole that experience. The partner school is a Russian high school where pupils speak fluent Russian and Lithuanian and where students learn English, German and Spanish. The partner school's students all come from minorities such as Armenian, Ukrainian, Russian and Belarusian families. Bjergsnæs Efterskole's management and the board want to focus the training and job-shadowing activities on intercultural competences. The activities, which primarily is an investment in the teachers' competence level, are focused on giving the students the opportunity to acquire intercultural skills, so they get a better understanding of Europe as a continent with a lot of diversity. Bjergsnæs Efterskole's employees are expected after two years to have acquired intercultural competences at a level, so that the students in all academic subjects will experience an increased focus on the European dimension. It is the aim that the training activities will be the basis for the school's future focus on the European dimension.
