Europäisierung der Münchner Berufsbildung
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Based on the previous projects EUMUC2013 and EUMUC2014, the overarching objective of EUMUC 2015 is to continue and to further develop the Europeanization of vocational education and training in Munich. For this purpose we would like to send three target groups abroad: Students at vocational training schools, graduates of vocational training schools and teachers at vocational training schools, educators at children day-care facilities as well as other actors in the field of vocational education and training. Those vocational training schools that are not implementing Erasmus+ projects so far, are offered the opportunity in an initial phase to send their students and graduates abroad through EUMUC 2014 for gaining experience and establishing contacts to submit their own project proposals at a later stage. The project implementation is launched by the Office for European and International Exchanges & Projects at the City of Munich and the vocational training schools preparing the deployment first while during the actual mobilities the respective project partner abroad is in charge. For the provision of internship placements, we engage our partners in the Xarxa FP Network, of which Munich is also a member. During the project period of two years students and graduates will be sent abroad, either individually or in small groups. As accompanying measure to trigger further Europeanization of the Munich vocation education school system, also vocational education staff (i.e. staff in charge of EU projects and members of the school governing body or ohter persons involved in vocational education and training) will have the opportunity to spend a work stay abroad in a European country. The individual objective of these work stays will vary and will fall in one or more of the following areas: · Teaching stay primarily to inform on the specifics of the German dual education system (Duales System) (requests via EUROCITIES) · Study stay to gain job-specific and expert experience (for example CLILL, Information and communication technology, building industry, administration) · Initiation of new contacts and agreements on details for possible new mobility projects (former preparatory visits) Additionally, we would like to continue offering education staff of children day-care institutions (those in charge of mentoring junior staff/interns, for the implementation of further training of children day-care staff and for advising staff at the institutions) the possibility to spend job specific and topic centre study stays abroad. In 2013 and 2014, we have already implemented a project (Inclusion in Early Childhood Education and Care) on the status-quo of inclusion in practice in Edinburgh; based on the project results, we intend to develop new questions and deploy new colleagues to realize further dissemination. Further to this, we have established good contacts with the German-speaking education authority in South Tyrol, giving our participants the opportunity to experience practical approaches to multilingualism. With these measures we can contribute to the expansion and implementation of thematic knowledge as well as ensure that the area of children day-care of the department of education and sports is further Europeanized.
