Ramstein-Miesenbach is international! People from more than 70 nations live here! In this environment stands and operates the youth welfare institution of the Youth Office of the Association of Municipalities Ramstein-Miesenbach (www.jugendbuero-ramstein.de). Activities, programs and events for young people are on the program. But on the first line our work is to give advice to young people who need help: in school, looking for an apprenticeship, workplace or job, and integration of (young) foreign new citizens. The team of the Youth Bureau consists of young people who complete a voluntary social year, a Federal voluntary service or European voluntary service together with 3 full-time pedagogic staff and other educational staff.
The assignmet in the European Voluntary Service is in the field of integration work for foreign people, within the co-operation of the all-day school program with 11-16 year old scholars, events in the youth field and the organization of the work in the Youth Bureau.
We will incorporate one (1) participant as receiving organization. The participant must have some language skills, "some" life experience, bring a willingness to engage in a new language and new culture and talents for the coexistence with young people.
Objectives for the participants are:
1. Learn the German Language
2. Be able to find and keep contact with (young) people
3. Promote an "international" Community by cultural offers
We expect that the EFD-assignment strenghtens, brings and propagates "European impulses" to the participants, to the two partner organizations and to all the participants as well. This includes the acquisition of additional language skills.
There will be a release in the local press (interview), in our homepage and at district-wide meetings of all youth workers. We plan to send circulars/letters from the participant to his/her hometown for local publication.
