Europäisch Lernen für Auszubildende und Bildungspersonal
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Project “Eule” has been implemented by the Akademie Überlingen Osnabrueck Administrative GmbH Wernigerode and in collaboration with national consortiums and international partners. As a pool envisaged project for apprentices from all over Germany it support progress in the realm of internationalisation strategy within our educational institution. Apprentices and vocational personal had been invited to take part in the increasing international oriented societal and work related environments. All training activities carried out in European countries are characterised by a professional international learning objective which is not only engrained in formalized learning agreements but also gets analysed after participants return from their training or vocational organisations. It was not only our goal to improve the employment opportunities for young people after they have completed their education based on recognition of competencies and qualifications but also to enhance personal development such as self-confidence, mobility and intercultural competencies. Consequently, progress of all key qualifications and social competencies could be certified to each participant. Besides gaining vocational related skills all participants also learned special techniques and organisational aspects of their respective work placements. A work placement completion was achieved by a total of 43 apprentices and successfully accomplished by trainees with a full time school education and trainees with a dual education. Of all trainees there were 10 participants that required increased assistance and support and therefore received more intensive preparation to make sure that they can undertake the project individually and independently. Within the framework of this project it was noticed that the training companies stress more and more the importance of well-developed language skills of their staff. 75% of all work placements took place in English speaking countries. All participants were highly motivated and well prepared in terms of possible risks and challenges to ensure that no participant had to terminate or shorten their stay abroad.Participants of our pool project carried out their work placement in the following countries such as Austria, England, Malta, Ireland, Italy, Norway and the Netherlands. All participants received learning agreements in coordination with their training companies. After their return all participants reported that they have gained more self-confidence, are more outgoing and possess a higher degree of independence, resilience and assertiveness. All participants received an Europass Mobility from the Academie Überlingen and a certificate of attendance as well as a personal evaluation from their work placement company.
