The primary and lower secondary school in Jozefoslaw is situated in the rural, strongly developing area of Piaseczno municipality, near the outskirts of Warsaw. Despite its location, it is an institution with a growing number of students (aproximately 1480). Some of the teachers at school are experienced in organising multilateral and individual European projects and they want to continue the idea of learning through the lifetime together with other co-workers as the response to the needs of contemporary Europe. The aim of the project – "Europe and Poland – so different but so similar in the global village" is to improve the effectiveness of school activity in the following domains: - increasing staff qualifications and competences, - developing language skills, - enhancing European dimension of the organisation as the modern institution – open to future international projects and activity, - implementing new methods in the teaching process, - extending cooperation with the local community.The crucial objective of the project is the growth of participants' awarness concerning the differences and similarities among European cultures, which is particularly essential when it comes to current, ethnical and migration changes. The institution located in the village of Jozefoslaw perfectly reflects these local and global transformations.There are fourteen teachers of the following subjects – English, Polish, German, Mathematics, ICT, Ethical Education, two pedagogues and one administrative employee involved in the project. Three of them are also university lecturers.Teacher trainings will be attended by six participants and language courses by nine people.A lot of measures preceeding the mobilities, numerous actions supporting the participants during the mobilities and activities following them were undertaken in order to implement the project effectively.Language and teachers trainings will result in the growth of cultural awarness, establishment of contacts with future partners in international programmes. Furthermore, the teachers will improve their teaching methods by using innovative techniques they will also lower their barriers while communicating in a foreign language. The participation in Erasmus + will result in expanding the educational offer of the organisation as well as it will lead to recognising the prestige of the institution in the region.The knowledge and competences acquired by the participants will encourage other employees at school to take part in educational European programmes offered by Erasmus +. The activities following up the project will lead to the engaging a larger group of workers in the school development in the European dimension, which is the final aim of the institution.Promoting different cultures co-existing in the local community and in the global village is one of the significant objectives of the organisation. Technological competences acquired by the participants will disseminate the institution in the region and beyond as the school that is tolerant, friendly and open to cultural diversity.All these actions will enhance the attractiveness of the institution to future generations of students.
