Europa Giovani
Start date: Nov 2, 2015, End date: Jul 1, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Europa Giovani is a project launched in the framework of the Structured Dialogue (Erasmus+ Programme), to promote active participation of young people in democratic life and foster debates around the renewed political framework in the youth field according to the Trio Presidency Priority of Youth Empowerment – Youth participation (IV Cycle). The promoter aims at integrating the initiatives already launched on the thematic, deepening the knowledge on the Youth and, in particular, the experience of youth participation in Italy. Thus far, there has been no analysis on the interests, motivations and levels of participation of young people in the democratic life in Italy, that would facilitate the adoption of strategies to promote youth participation in social and political life. The project main objective is to contribute to find out motivation, interest and levels of democratic participation of young people at local and regional level, offering the youth an occasion to be part of this project. According with the project proposal 60 Italian young students will be identified in order to be part of the three Working Group of the project, which will stud and analize and discuss about the content of the European Charter on the Participation of Young People in Local and Regional Life. The work activities will take place remotely, with three workshops and a final meeting. A Final report will be presented by some spokespersons of the Working Groups during the Final meeting, organized at the end of the project, attended by representatives of the institutions and the civil society. The project approach is based on a non-formal education methodology and relies on the youth in all the creative project stages, enhancing their interests and expectations. At the end, the project results (the FotoGallery, the Prezi presentation and PPT and the report) will be published online and will be accessible to all those who are interested in the topic. The expected impacts involve all parties of the project: the 60 young people, who have an opportunity to express their voice on an issue that directly affects them and which is a priority at European level; youth workers and organizers will improve their knowledge of the youth field and their ability to interact with them; finally, the decision-makers will have data and concrete tips to direct policy reforms enhancing Youth Participation towards real young people’s interests and needs in Italy, especially al local and regional level.
