Volkshochschule (vhs) Kempten is a medium-sized adult education centre with some 45,000 participants in 29,000 teaching modules per year with a catchment area of more than 130.000 inhabitants. The teaching is provided by currently 420 lecturers. The quality management system according to EFQM has been implemented in the vhs.The present project EUROMOTION++ (European Mobility for Teachers and Staff in Adult Education Organisations++) aims at making available for mobile persons, and usable for the vhs, successful innovative learning environments, methods, study contents and organisational forms in a best practice-sense. This is achieved by offering measures of further education, job shadowing and participation in specialised seminars and conferences on various topics related to adult education of managerial and teaching staff in particular in partner institutions abroad and, additionally, at improving the personal competences of the mobile persons.Volkshochschule Kempten has been a project holder ERASMUS+ - application round 2014 – and in view of the necessary educational challenges and changing social processes, and particularely with regard to the huge number of refugees in the region Volkshochschule Kempten considers this project to be an essential and appropriate instrument to further professionalise adult education at the vhs for both teaching staff and organisational development.Thus the number of participants in adult education measures will be raised, the quality of the teaching offers will be improved and new approaches will be given to lifelong learning. The large number of refugees requires new organizational structure, consulting competence, language skills in human resources and new methods in teaching and learning. Moreover, international exchange will contribute to improve linguistic, social, personal, didactic and intercultural competences of managerial and teaching staff and the participating lecturers alike, and adult education will receive a European dimension. Individual mobility measures will have durations between 5 and 12 days (excluding travel time). All in all, 25 mobility activities for training purposes and 7 mobility activities for job-shadowing will take place. Criteria for participant selection are defined.For quality assurance and recognition of the competences acquired through learning mobility the ECVET instruments and principles of quality assurance (ECVET - European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training) and the europass Mobility will be introduced at vhs Kempten. This includes application of the ECVET principles (definition of teaching outcome, definition of teaching outcome units) and ECVET instruments (partnership agreements, learning agreements and personal performance records) for quality assurance of the teaching assignments abroad, as well as documentation of learning results by the europass Mobility.The learning outcomes developed and europass samples will be published on the national ECVET-portal as good practice examples to ensure sustainability, to disseminate the project results, and to document the learning outcome-oriented strategies and approaches. The co-operation with partner institutions abroad may lead to learning partnerships and collaboration in other areas of in-depth and structural European co-operation.The project results will additionally be disseminated through local, regional and supra-regional networks of vhs Kempten and various media (Internet, social media etc.).
