Euromedinculture(s), favoriser l’employabilité des jeunes dans l’art et la culture à travers le volontariat euro-méditerranéen
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Feb 1, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Within the Euro Mediterranean artistic and cultural cooperation, EUROMEDINCULTURE(s) network, some of its members want to offer young volunteers to live a mobility experience, in a country other than their own, within a professional cultural organization. In addition to learning and mobility, for the volunteers the objectives are the acquisition of knowledge and know-how, a rewarding and fulfilling experience, discovery or linguistic enhancement, the discovery of another culture and other customs. For the host organizations, the objectives are the openness, the strengthening of intercultural internal teams, the discovery of other approaches through practices brought by volunteers. Our project concerns 9 volunteers between 21 and 29 years old, with an open-minded profile and a curiosity for intercultural dialogue and a learning by doing approach. The methodology used is essentially, first of all , based on a serious preparation defining projects, future relationships and rules of functionning of the overall mobility while individualizing each project , guaranteeing the success of the mobility and the individual monitoring throughout the mobility project, of participants both from the sending organization , from the coordination than the host organization and by a permanent dialogue between all actors involved . The professional and trustful relations between the organizations involved guarantee the quality of the permanent dialogue. The method also relies on constant concern, even upstream, of monitoring the return of volunteers in order to provide them with the tools of integration in their future activities. About the method, the network constantly place the human being at the center of its activities. The first expected result is, of course, the achievement, of all months of volunteering under the initial conditions and providing the best qualitatively set up for both, youngsters, the host and the sending organization. The other result is the full development of the volunteer as well as his success after his/her mobility. Finally, another result will be the development of the host organization in relation to the tasks and projects assigned to the volunteer. The overall results will be enhanced on our websites, including the "personal stories" of the volunteers and their host organizations. There are numerous and varied impacts in local, national and European levels. The two main impacts that the project searches are at local level, to show that the EU intervenes to support concrete projects of interest to all. In 2nd place, it is to educate employers, policy makers and other actors in the professional world to the concrete interests of mobility. Finally, on the long term, we want young people to become true "ambassadors" of European programs to support mobility, that more and more organizations will be engaged in qualitative projects and that mobility could be valued for decision makers in the same way as a diploma or professional experience.
