EUROCARE - Improving the Lifelong Training of Social Care Staff in Europe

EUROCARE will develop an innovative European training package, with a particular focus upon ICT, for use within the Social Care Sector and working primarily with the elderly and disabled.A core training structure will be developed in EN and will be expanded across each of the involved partner languages (BG, CZ, DE, IT & ES). The package will comprise units for both trainees (learners) and trainers (tutors) and will consider a range of themes such as; Work in the Multidisciplinary Team, Communication and Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Vocational Rehabilitation and the use of ICT in Social Care. The course itself will comprise 400 teaching hours and will exist as a series of 'themed units' able to be taught as a whole package or individually (as separate modules).Outcomes will be presented both in classic (paper-based manual) and electronic (web-based and CD-Rom) formats and plans to seek accreditation, upon release, from the relevant ministries or authorities in each of the involved partner countries.Awareness raising is planned both through the European Network of Social Authorities (ENSA) and through existing partner networks in addition to a planned seminar/exhibition to promote eventual project results.
