Project in brief Unemployment has been rising sharply in the Mediterranean area over the last years, affecting in particular young people and women. At the same time, the transition to a green economy represents a huge potential for job creation which requires new professional skills. To seize the opportunities offered by business growth related to environmental sustainability in sectors such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, ecohousing or waste recycling, EGREJOB aims to create a standard training process and skills certification scheme at Euro-Mediterranean level. The project will therefore ease the participation into the labour market of young people, especially women, with a specialization in the area of green jobs contributing to the competitiveness of the concerned territories.Specific objectiveTo build a Euro-Mediterranean incubation system of skills in the field of green jobs through a process based on multi-stakeholders engagement, a standardized training path and a common certification scheme of “green” skills Expected Results: • Sectors with high green jobs potentialities identified in the concerned territories • A shared and standardized certification of green skills developed through common raining paths • Around 100 young people (50% women) trained on green and business skills in order to be qualified to start green businesses • Matching between green jobs demand and offer facilitated • Drafting and implementation of labour policies related to the green economy fostered
