EUKOT is a staff mobility project of the Lapua Adult Education Centre. It aims at enhancing our staff's competence to participate in international activities and at moving towards the objectives of our own internationalisation programme. In the years 2013 - 2015 we were partners in a Grundtvig learning partnership, Communitek - Melting Distances, for language teaching. Now we would like to include our other subjects into the internationalisation process. The seven teachers who take part in the project represent most of our subjects: crafts, visual arts, ICT, foreign languages and Finnish for foreigners. All are motivated and interested in getting acquainted with international activities and the European field of adult education, and in finding contacts for future projects.During two years, we will participate in trainings in our own fields, language courses, or job shadowing activities, to develop our professional skills and to promote the performance and internationalisation of our organisation. We will form a working group to follow the project and to gather results, which we will then disseminate by sharing with our staff and other institutions in the area. We will also develop our own internationalisation programme further. In future we want to take part in developing and carrying out a European project, the main themes of which would evolve around adult education and internationalisation, and that would also represent all of our different course areas, in collaboration with other similar European organisations. The future project could for example find ways to incorporate language learning, social integration and internationalisation into craft and art classes with participants from all backgrounds. Through the current project we hope to make contacts who could be our future partners, or help us find future partners, as well as ideas for the themes and realisation of the future project.Following our internationalisation plan, we want to promote valuing our own culture, interaction between cultures, a feeling of togetherness, and the idea of a global identity.
