Start date: Jun 1, 2014,
End date: May 1, 2016
PROJECT
FINISHED
As our industrial clerks increasingly work in companies, which subsidiaries and customers are located abroad, it is very important for our school to offer the apprentices the possibililty to handle their customers due to the mobility and flexibility that they have shown by participating in such a programme. While participating the students shall get used to the culture, speach and of course business situations in a foreign country. Furthermore they should deepen their skills and abilities. What is more is that they have got the possibility to enhance thier listening and speaking skills in concern of the KMK-Examination. It has always been a topic of utmost concern for the ETS to make such a programme part of the apprenticeship for the industrial clerks. The whole programme should take place in Plymouth, UK in the periode of September to October 2015 and 2016. As the apprentices will be in the third year of their apprenticeship at that time they should be able to deal with all the situations (host family, office, TellUs) they might encounter.
Responsible for the organisation on our part is Mr. Frederik Georg as for our partner organisation in Plymouth,UK is Ms Karolina Blicharz (employee of TellUs Group). We got supported by the Go.for.europe-Servicestelle of the IHK Hochrhein-Bodensee in Konstanz. Furthermore Go.for.europe recommended TellUs Group three years ago. For our first flow we are planning to send 12 students abroad.
Departure and arrival:
The participants will be leaving from the airport in Stuttgart. It is a matter of their own responsibility to get to the airport. They will be fetched by our partner at Heathrow Airport and transfered to Plymouth. At Plymouth the host families will fetch them.
Accomodation and environment:
The particpants will be informed by employees of TellUs where they will be staying as they will get a short tour of the city.
Adaption phase:
The first day in Plymouth will be opened with a welcoming ceremony at TellUs. There they are going to meet their contacts. That is important because their contacts are responsible to deal with any problems. Next they' ll get their bus tickets and maps of Plymouth for a better orientation. After that they will take part in a short language evaluation test. The test will sort out the language level each person will be taught. During the first week they can get to know Plymouth a little better so that they can find their way to their internships.
Internship:
The interns will works in their work placements in the area of office administration.
A day of work:
They will be working 37.5 hours a week, not to forget that hours could vary due to the work of the company. Of course the 37.5 hours won't be exceeded.
Cultural programme:
Our partner will book a cultural programme for three weekends which is optinal for our apprentices.
All of our students should get the Europass Mobilität at the end of the project which they could use for their future applications. Furthermore they gain an insight into a foreign culture which will be something that they will never forget in their lives.
