ETNA - A European Training Needs Assessment for Small and Medium Enterprises

The ETNA project will both develop a tool for the assessment of training needs within European SMEs, and will establish a common database of available courses for those in the sector wishing to undergo additional training.Actual project activities will comprise; preparation, development and pilot testing of the ETNA training package within SMEs, leading to the development and introduction of an Assessment Guide, a Database Application and a Web-based European information system for use by all partners.The products themselves will be developed for use by both SMEs (site tool) and Training Specialists (central tool) and will be based upon standardised but highly innovative measures and analysis & comparison methods, each making full use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). The results will feature as a web-based information and assessment tool and will be produced in all partner languages (PL, EN, DA & EL).Following implementation of the tool, conferences will be organised across partner countries to promote project results & achievements to both professional and end-user groups.It is further planned to submit the 'ETNA' working name for registration as a trademark for this type of training to act as a future guarantee of quality training.
