ETEY! – Empower Trainers, Empower Youth!
Start date: Jul 1, 2015, End date: Aug 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project is coordinated by the World Esperanto Youth Organisation (TEJO), a worldwide umbrella organisation based in the Netherlands, gathering more of forty national sections active in different countries and engaged in international communication, intercultural exchange and valorisation of linguistic and cultural diversity against any forms of discrimination. TEJO and its national sections carry out their activities and strive to achieve their aims through the international language Esperanto. Furthermore, TEJO is officially represented and active in the framework of the European Youth Forum, UNESCO, UN, ICMYO, where it gives voice to stakeholders and activists interested in issues related to linguistic justice and democracy, intercultural cooperation and sustainable development. In this project six volunteer-based NGOs from the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain, Denmark will actively cooperate; the activities will be focused on exchange of better practices and identification of innovative curricula, materials and methodologies related to training of trainers in the field of youth organisations. One of the key factors for the quality and success of non-formal learning activities carried out in the NGOs involved in the project is the capacity of the trainers and youth workers involved. Based on a needs-analysis carried out by our partnership, this project aims to qualify our pool of freelance and voluntary trainers and youth workers, to share best experience in a European dimension and to develop and disseminate tools and resources to raise the quality of educational activities in the participating countries and beyond. Main project activities will therefore be three transnational project meetings in Germany (August 2015), The Netherlands (November 2015) and Poland (July 2016), aimed at coordinating the project activities and, at exchanging better practices and at collecting and creating training materials. Furthermore, the project envisages a "training of trainers" meeting in Italy (April 2016); 18 trainers and youth workers will be reached who work as volunteers or freelancers within the NGO network coordinated worldwide by TEJO. After each training of trainers the partners will run activities at national and local level. Innovative training curricula and methodology will be presented, discussed and adapted to the activities of each partner and disseminated within local and national networks, and the created and collected training materials and tools will be available online even beyond the end of the project's lifespan. The envisaged impact of the partnership project is a higher number and learning efficiency of non formal learning activities of NGOs beyond the borders of the partnership in the participating countries. In the long-term this will contribute to raise the quality of non-formal learning activities in the framework of youth NGOs.
