The project aims at laying the foundations for knowledge based cross-border business co-operation by building contacts between the SMEs, research facilities and knowledge transfer organizations (together: innovative actors). As a result of the project a network of innovative actors will be set up, online access to cross-border business information (innovative co-operations) will be provided and the decision-making process will be supported by action plans.Within the frame of the project the most relevant industrial sectors will be connected with the innovation centres, their data collected in a joint database, and a joint action plan will be developed on the basis of surveys conducted and analysed to determine the innovation potential of the region. Achievements: Working towards the long-term goal of creating a co-operative cross-border region unified by the intensive exchange of ideas and goods between innovative stakeholders, the project partners organised several match-making events to support the formation of a cross-border innovative network. With the institutional framework provided by the elaboration of an action plan to be implemented by the local governments, the network can be further developed and extended via the online database established during the project.
