Especialización y mejora de la PRÁCTICA DOCENTE CON ADULTOS a través de la gestión de grupos y las nuevas tecnologías
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project: Context: the teachers taking part in the mobilities are expected to attain the supplementary skills to enable them to improve the language teaching strategies when addressing adults. This improvemen t is structured along two working lines: on the one hand the high specialization in linguistics to be able to teach effectively the C level from the CFR and on the other hand the acquisition of the necessary skills to deal effectively with the varied academic and cultural bacgrounds of our students especially in the first years. This has proved a major cause for early abandonment and frustration in those students The acquisition of the afore mentioned skills should come through the use of the new tecnologies and the improvement of the group dinamics, leadership and resouce management. The number of teachers participating is 6 from the different departments. All of them have a wide experience as teachers but nowadays they have to face new challenges ; for example how to teach a second language to adults with varied academic backgrounds, coming from different Spanish speaking countries; students that right now are residents in our country, but many with a low employability potential, which could be highly improved with the fluent knowledge of a second European language. Another challenge is how to teach effectively advanced students (Level C from CFR) in this new technological era. The planned activities are structured courses to upgrade the teachers' skills on metholology, new technologies, group dinamics and linguistic specialization.A new site has been created (http://hablaidiomaseoi.weebly.com/) to exchange ideas and experiences and gain visibility nationwide. We plan to share ideas, activities, practices, team work collaboration through networking sites like facebook(https://www.facebook.com/eoischooloflanguages?ref=hl The methodology that is going to be used will imply sharing and exchanging ideas, knowledge and practices, implementing teamwork and the use of the new technologies , self-learning strategies and workshops. We will make use of face to face communication as well as conference calls using the Internet and also mailing. Our possible positive impact is immediate and very high if we take into account that we teach on average a number of 3000 students every academic year.(2945 this year). In the long term, these students can move around Europe to look for a job, and with the self learning skills attained can improve their personal and professional profile throughout their lives. Our Education Institution will be part of a network of European centres to exchange good practices, using the etwinning platform (http://www.etwinning.net/es/pub/index.htm#) and with the contacts that expect to make after the first phase of this project. Our final aim is to have bonds with other European institutions and take part in student exchanges and visits as part of a KA2 strategic partnership..
