ESCENARIOS EDUCATIVOS INNOVADORES: NUEVAS FORMAS DE ENSEÑAR, NUEVAS FORMAS DE APRENDER
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our education center is marked by a very disadvantaged socio cultural context, this aspect has motivated our staff to put in practice several measures that allow us to achieve better academical results, assist the promotion and social development, as well as to decrease early school leaving among our students. The teachers’s profile who seek the training comes to term with the selection criteria. These criteria have been set out to get a high level of exploitation and wide circulation of the requested activities. Our faculty is prepared to put in practice the highest level of this project: Outdoor teaching as an educational resource. (This project was sequenced in five years and nowadays we are in the last step) The project develops several training activities organized in two training courses. The first one, Taking Learning Outdoor, is focused on a general view of outdoor teaching. It fosters a holistic approach which we consider as an aspect of educational innovation, being a space of reflection and learning geared to integral development. The second one, Reading the City, allows to make use and develop the first one, taking into account the possibilities of the city as an educational environment. At the same time, it has felt the need to carry out a learning portfolio made by the participants to register the learning process. The project “INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENTS: NEW WAYS OF TEACHING, NEW WAYS OF LEARNING”. This project represents the last link of an active methodology project which has been set up gradually and it is grounded on project based learning (PBL). During the first phases (1st and 2nd year) our center stablished the basis for the gradual transformation towards new methodological approaches. Last year (3rd year in the project) we get a final change coordinating different national and international projects based on PBL. PBL PROJECT - Projecting future, addressed to register and foster PBL experiences in the center. It has been set up as the result of the training received last year in K1. A mirror where to look project - It won the first prize in the design of coeducational syllabus materials. This project was addressed to foster new scientific vocations. EvoluTICvos project - This project is within PROMECE, call belonging to the Ministry of Education. This project intends to supply schools with technology. It is carried out with the collaboration of three schools in three different autonomous communities. Innovative project - Actions to promote scientific interest in young people, particularly in rural, insular and ultrapheric areas which is presented to the Horizon 2020 Call and with the collaboration of CSIC in Seville. Living and Feeling The Alhambra project - addressed to take advantage of our cultural heritage to develop learning activities from it. Currently, we are finishing another project CREECE, this is our first experience in outdoor teaching methodology in our learning community (http://proyectocreece.wordpress.com). And this experience has produced the needs of training that we are asking for in this Erasmus+ Call. This last project, coordinated by our education center, allows 800 students (from 7 different education centres in all levels) to learn and work together, knowing and improving their environment, collaborating with six different institutions (University, Descubre Foundation, Cultural Centres, Town Hall, Promotion and Environment Department, and Granada’s Teachers Training Centre) to carry out the ecological restoration of a pond in the town. The impact of this training will be well-know, it won't reamin only in our centre, but it will be spread to Teacher's Training Centers, University and Education Conferences where we are going to share our innovative work. In a long term, we consider that our centre will be benefit from the changes made in the organization and proposals of the learning activities and our students will be benefit too. The true value of education is the “eco” that education produces in the society in the future. We are convinced that this kind of activities will allow us to decrease the socio cultural distance between our disadvantaged students with other students from other socio cultural levels. We have several years of experience and due to that, we are aware of improvements in methodology contribute to the improvement in the students’ learning. Our statistics suppor our approach.
