Our school puts great emphasis on multilingualism. That is the reason why our students can study three modern European languages in the course of their school career. We make every effort to support our students on their way to an outstanding command in foreign languages, as we regard it our duty to prepare them for the demands of an international labour market as best as possible. We thus hope that they will later be in a position to enjoy employability, job flexibility and mobility. To meet the ever increasing challenges of teaching foreign languages on a level of excellence, our modern languages teachers consider it to be obligatory to participate in teacher training measures on a regular basis, not only in their home country but also abroad. At least three teachers from various departments are supposed to assume key functions in the development and multiplication of modern teaching methods among the staff of our school. We are determined to extend bilingual units to a greater selection of subjects in order to provide a larger number of students with the opportunity to participate in bilingual classes. Apart from that we also intend to intensify students´ exchange programs and twinnings with other European nations to give our students insight into the wide range of standards of living within Europe. We assume that our students on the one hand will learn to value their own situation in Germany better but on the other hand build up reasonable criticisim. Besides, they will gain an understanding of social, linguistic and cultural diversity. All in all we expect our students not only to acquire new communicative skills but also to deepen their European awareness resulting in a greater competence as EU-citizens.
