Erweiterung des methodisch-didaktischen Repertoires
Start date: Jun 26, 2014, End date: Jun 25, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Lately we have noticed that the students attending our school have become more diverse. We are now teaching pupils from 40 different nations some of them highly talented, others having special needs and many of them dyslexic. At the same time our curriculum for our older students (16-19) has changed and for foreign language oral performance has become increasingly important. It is therefore necessary that we develop our professional teaching and language skills in order to meet the new challenges. Therefore the aims of the project are to make our teachers more confident in using new and modern teaching methods and to improve the language competence of our teachers of foreign languages. On top of that we try to develop the cultural flexibilty of our teachers so that they can successfully meet the needs of our almost international pupils coming from over 0 different countries. The teacher attending the teacher trainings is actively working in several departments in the school and very able to inform other collegues about the project results and make them profit from them. She will also motivate other teachers to attend European teacher trainings in the future. The planned activities are teacher trainings for overseas teachers of English in the UK focussing on language, methodology and culture. In order to successfully organise the project we will use previous experiences of our school with Comenius projects and the Comenius database, which we have used to find approriate courses. But we well of course also contact our National Agency for help. We expect that the colleague attending the teacher trainings in an English-speaking country to profit immensely concerning the methodology of language teaching and her linguistic competence. Moreover we are looking forward to establishing contact with other European school through the teachers our colleague will meet doing he Erasmus teacher training. Further we feel sure that our colleague who is planning to attend three courses over the period of 24 months and will inform fellow teachers three times of project results will have a positive impact on the methodological competence of other teachers and motivate them to take part in European teacher trainings themselves. Last but definitely not least we expect our students to profit from the project with more professional skills of the teachers leading students to better results and better jobs.
