Erweiterung der CNC-Programmierungskompetenz
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The objective of the project is to enlarge the competence of programming skills of the participants. Nowadays the specific knowledge and skills concerning the programming and operating of CNC-machines is according to the view of professionals the most important qualification to be employed in a company on a long term basis. The metal cutting manufacture of metal components, mainly steel components, but also non-ferrous metal components is being made almost exclusively by CNC- machines. That is the reason why programming and operating CNC-machines is an important field of activity of industrial mechanics. The job of an industrial mechanic but also of the precision mechanic is to optimize a CNC programme for the application. That is why a broad and deep knowledge concerning the programming and operating of CNC-machines is necessary. The students of the vocational school “Berufsfachschule für Maschinenbau” learn to use the programming language “Millplus” in order to be able to program the CNC- milling machine and they are also taught “Siemens Sinumerik” in order to program the CNC-turning machine. There are more programming languages, which the students do not learn at the vocational school but nevertheless will be confronted with in the course of their career and which they will have to learn and be able to apply. The partner school Solski Center teaches two different programming languages. The acquisition of further languages means an additional benefit for the professional qualification of our students. This will help them to secure their jobs. The two week long stay will also enable the students to get a deeper insight into the working world of another EU State. The industrial organization of Slovenia is closely related to the Lower Franconia economic area. On the one hand they are in competition with each other, on the other hand they also co-operate in some areas, especially in the automotive industry. Using the bridge language “English” in order to communicate during the lessons and during teamwork but also during extracurricular activities (joint evening programmes, sport events) will have the effect that the students realize how important it is to be able to communicate in English. This will also create a multiplier effect. The participation in this project plus the Europass, mobility and the language passport will have the effect that the participants will have better chances when applying for a job. The project always takes place in the early summer with participating students of our partner school Solski Center in Zrece/Slovenia. At the time of the project all participants are students of the 11th grade at our school.
