ERASMUS + Education et Formation Professionnelle tout au long de la vie
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

This Erasmus + project involves students studying a vocational Baccalaureat in Home Health Care Service. A group of 15 students will go to Jaen, Spain in order to complete their N°3 work placement in nursing and retirement homes. This four week internship, from January 18th to February 14th 2015, will be the opportunity for these students to work within a team of professionals taking care of elderly people. They will do their internship in four partner structures (the partner agreement was signed in 2013). The objectives of this internship are to implement skills and knowledge in professional situations in presence of seniors, to develop communication competences, to fit into a working team. The fact that this PFMP takes place in a foreign country will allow students to gain autonomy and independence, develop communication skills including using a foreign language: Spanish. This experience will give them the opportunity to discover a new culture, to encourage them to be open-minded and to feel European citizens. Having a European pathway is a good opportunity to diversify and improve their skills and enrich their professional experience. Facing a different environment, they will strengthen their abilities and willingness to adapt. So they will find a new dynamism to better understand their own potential and to gain more confidence in themselves and in the future. The students will be accomodated at the university residence « La Virgen de la Capilla ». Three teachers of this class will take turns to be with them and provide logistical, moral support, possibly medical help, assess with the company tutors but also accompany them on their free time in different visits of the Andalusian region. In Jaen, thanks to the partnership set with San Juan Bosco school in 2013, the teachers of both schools will interact, participate in educational activities and find a precious help for the installation of students and for their assessments. The assessment results will be disseminated through various means: press, open houses, school and academic sites and partner school, school newspaper, communication with other sections ... Students, leaders and partners in the host country will fill in a questionnaire to give their feelings on the training period. It will be designed as a self-assessment in order to assess the strong points and identify the weak ones for improvement. This self-assessment is a quality approach implemented by QALEP program. A major theme of the QALEDUC scheme is the European and international openness to learners. It is therefore important to disseminate and share the results to allow future candidates to benefit from the activities and experiences of Erasmus + project and to develop other partnerships. This experience and our students’ professional skills will be enhanced by and Europass and Europro documents. The positive results of the past first project, the satisfaction of our partners, the enthusiasm of students and their families, when announcing the new project, reinforce our decision to renew this European rewarding experience.
