The following mobility plan was created by the 6th Primary School of Ptolemaida in order to meet the increasing educational needs of its personnel in the field of digital competencies and the integration of technology in teaching. The plan includes the participation in the teacher training course "Empowerment in ICT skills- making Use of Technology Tools"and it will be held in August 17-22 in Malta by the course provider ETI ( Executive Training Institute). The plan's objectives are: - to enhance the professional development of teachers, through the improvement of teaching quality and designing up-to-date lessons for their students' benefit. - to empower digital skills and taking advantage of the school's technical equipment. - to help in the integration of ICT in teaching , by experiencing a variety of software and on line tools. - to relate teaching methodologies to technology - to adopt a positive attitude towards innovative methods of teaching - to further develop participants own language skills - to facilitate teaching preparation and student assessment - to meet other European teachers and create opportunities for future cooperation - to experience the cultural heritage of another country and develop European identity. Eight teachers,coming from various educational fields will attend this seminar: the Headmaster, three teachers, the teacher for students with learning disabilities and the teachers of English, ICT and Physical Education. The participants are highly experienced, have post graduate studies, good knowledge of a foreign language and former experience in other European projects. The course provider has already been selected and places have been pre-registered. The Head of school will take care of financial issues and travel arrangements. The course provider will take care of accommodation, transfers in Malta and cultural experience. Preparation activities will be suggested by the course provider. The expected outcomes among others are - improvement of teachers' digital skills - use of acquired skills in the classroom to increase students' motivation and to facilitate administrative work - designing up-to-date, attractive and effective IT based lessons - acquaintance with other European teaching methods and syllabuses - teacher should reflect on their own teaching methods and adopt a positive attitude to ICT supported teaching and other innovations - improvement of teaching performance and job satisfaction - improvement of the use of English in every day communication - networking with European teachers The activity will be followed by information of the school's personnel and local teachers through workshops, creation of the school's site and blog concerning the programme's outcomes. Ιn the long run, our school aspires to become a modern and efficient teaching organization, to apply innovative teaching methods, to become more attractive for its students and to empower its european identity through cooperation with other schools.
