The Public Institute of Vocational Training of Syros, Greece (DIEK Syrou) in consultation with the Greek Foundation for Youth and Lifelong Learning (INEDIVIM) and the Italian host institution “Sistema Turismo”, has decided to submit this application for the realisation of the educational mobility project for the further training of its learners and staff. The present draft of the project consists of two individual activities: - The first activity concerns the training of 11 learners 18-40 years old who attend the “Assistant Physiotherapist” specialty. The 11 learners are going to visit Rimini, Italy, where they are going to collaborate with institutions-establishments that host people with mobility problems, providing their services, always under the supervision of experienced collaborators. The learners will be assessed in the beginning and at the end of the project and they will be given a certificate of attendance, a training certificate, as well as a foreign language certificate. The duration of this project is estimated to be 16 days. - The second activity concerns the further training of 12 trainers of various ages and specialties of the DIEK Syrou in the field of adult education, as part of the effort to improve and develop the trainers’ teaching skills. The estimated duration is 14 days and the place where the project will take place is Rimini, Italy. Within the context of improving the methods of approaching and teaching adults, the trainers will be requested to complete a number of professional visits to institutions relevant with the training and the employment of adult learners, as well as to prepare a certain number of assignments. The participants of this activity are going to be assessed, too, and then they will be given the respective certificates of attendance and further education. In the first activity there is going to be an attendant, while in the second activity one of the participants is going to be the coordinator. The attendant and the coordinator respectively will coordinate and handle all issues that may occur, always in cooperation with the responsible representative of the host institution. English is going to be the language of the educational project. The project is expected to contribute to the enrichment of the knowledge and the skills of its participants, which will make them more competitive in the labour market, as well as the modernisation of the educational teaching methods and the improvement of the approach of adult learners. Of course, this project is going to help the participants develop their language and communication skills, as well as their contact with new technologies.
