Environmental education network for sustainable communities (Education network)

Creating favourable educational dimension and conditions for sustainable community education through the establishment of the environmental education network between Lithuanian and Latvian education organizations is a result in itself. The interactive exhibition has been created at the visitor centre in the Kamanos Reserve. It is greatly interesting not only to students but also other social groups. Visitors of the Tervete Nature Park are able to take a walk along the interactive nature trails. Project included lessons for the outdoor classes, prepared in Lithuanian and Latvian. Training for teachers and youth camping in Tervete was put together. Participants of the project have gained loads of valuable experience from the study trip to Norway (Hammer Nature school) facilitated by education professionals. The education network successfully implements its activities, ensuring that local education communities combine human resources for stronger bond with nature, prompting one become aware of environmental issues and take action. Achievements: Organized 2 workshops for 62 LT and LV region teachers; 2 expierence exchange visits with 26 participants; 2 camps for 52 schoolchildren;organized 3 World wetland days for 78 participants; printed brochures and leaflets;elaborated 3 training programs and 3 educational materials.
