Entrepreneurship in the Emerging Paradigm
Start date: Jan 1, 2015, End date: Dec 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Sustainability in a broad sense (ecological, societal, and economic) is one of the primary goal for European societies, fundamentally new approaches and solutions are required to reach this goal. Furthermore, in most European countries, youth unemployment is one of the major challenges of our time. The “sustainability crisis” is the challenge to shape a more desirable sustainable future. As all crises it unlocks the creativity and proactivity of young entrepreneurs. However social/environmental entrepreneurship requires a complex set of competencies, skills and a strong sense of purpose. One major challenge that young entrepreneurs face is the lack of guidance and mentorship. This project aims to tackle these issues by collecting the best experiences around entrepreneurship in the emerging paradigm to build a community of practice where young entrepreneurs support each other while creating a desirable alternative to the current sustainability and unemployment crisis. The project brings together young sustainability-minded entrepreneurs from eight countries in Europe, the partners all have diverse expertise and focus, all will through the project build on each other’s expertise and exchange knowledge and good practices. The project activities will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and practices between the partners and will serve as space for innovation that is further applied in each organisation’s local context. And reversely, the local knowledge and good practices on sustainable entrepreneurship will be brought to the group in order to enhance the strategic partnership. This supportive community of practice created de facto by partner organisations running the partnership will be open to broader audiences, so from the beginning there will be an all inclusive and evolving support network for young social/environmental entrepreneurs. The main target group of the activities planned are current and potential young entrepreneurs that want to make a positive change in their society. The project will include 3 transnational project meetings and one multiplier event with the purpose of partners developing content, these meetings will be partly open to the local community of the hosting country. In addition the project will provide 4 online open learning sessions, develop a toolkit and launch a community of practice. The project is innovative from several points of view, its core topic - the emerging paradigm of entrepreneurship - is a relatively new concept that blends various aspects of both societal development and youth entrepreneurship. In addition The project takes the perspective of ‘emergent leadership’ and will use action learning and open participatory processes, during the design process of activities. The project generally compliments many EU initiatives, like the Erasmus programme for Young Entrepreneurs and addresses many EU reports on Young Entrepreneurs, The intellectual output generated through this partnership will be a helpful tool for young entrepreneurs.
