This project will create a cultural exchange among youth from three different European countries, in order to build entrepreneurial, communication, and mobility skills in a hands-on workshop. Taking Berlin, Paris, and Rome as our locations, participates (ages 18-24) from Germany, France, and Italy will curate their own customized guided city walking tours designed to show alternative ways of experiencing popular tourist destinations. The participant will get to know a foreign city and inspiring professionals who work there through daily excursions, team-building exercises, and meet-and-greet sessions with local hospitality industry workers. Over the course of a seven-day program in each city, the participants will have to work together to create their ideal guided tour and then ultimately combine the most successful itineraries into one final tour that is then pitched to actual tourists on the last day. This process will mirror an actual research model of how to launch a new business, leading the participants through every stage from conception to presentation to potential clients. This program fosters cross-cultural exchange, with a priority for youths who would not normally be in the position to travel, and equips them concrete and applicable skills sets pertaining to one of the biggest worldwide industries.
