Enthusiastic Languages Teachers for a Better School
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Lenkey János Primary School is a traditional, 8-grade school. Our aim is to develop the key competencies and to make sure our talented students get proper preparation. The students start to learn English in the first year. In the XXI. century it is extremely important that children are able to communicate in English. It is a key that we have qualified teachers. The opportunities given by the Erasmus program have proved positively in the education. Since our teachers are constantly trying to improve their teaching methods, it has also reflected on their work. They had already taken many different courses to improve themselves. The main goal is to develop our students’ speaking skills so our short term aims are to acquire new, modern teaching methods and the usage of the newest ICT tools so as to motivate the students. Our school has hired four well qualified teacher’s application. All of them have proved with their achievments and their attitude regards teaching. Since the demand for teaching German language has grown recently, our collegue Románné Dóra Zsuzsanna has refreshed her methodology in teaching the language. Also, Kecskésné Pálfi Csilla the leader of the language community has taken upon herself to make sure the students know many different words. Miskolczi Ágnes has been in charge of pair-and group work activities. Sós Anita has brought theatre into the lessons. All of them are all for communication in the lessons. The teachers who took part in the mobility returned with new ideas and methods of teaching. The experinces acquired during the mobility were shared among the staff of the school by meetings, workshops and videos. By this the entired school had been introduced to new techniques. The lessons were visited amd examined by various collegues. The teachers’experiences were posted about on the webpage, The school newspaper and the school TV. An essay was sent to the Tanártovábbképző webpage, to the KLIK, interviews were also sent to the press, radio. Other teachers with interest also got to listen to our experiences. We shared our experiences with foreign and Hungarian teachers on the eTwinning network. The long term aim is that our school could take part in strategical partnerships. The goal is more teachers and students involved in foreign projects. This way students get a better learning environment. Even this year we applied to another program. Three of the participants of the last year wish to expand their knowledge. Two of them – besides the headmaster of the school – seeing the results and collegues’ motivation would love to be involved in the live long learning. The results of the project is that we can transmit the new methods to the foreign colleges. We are also active on the eTwinning portal which strengthen the chances of developing new partnerships.
