Enseñanza de lenguas extranjeras una propuesta de mejora
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

IESO Ribera del Cega is situated in the town of Mojados thirty kilometers from Valladolid. Mojados is a small Castillian village in which students face greater difficulties accessing cultural services than students in urban areas. In addition, IESO Ribera del Cega is a small school that offers only the obligatory secondary level and a diversification programme, and has no baccalaureate programme. Because of this, and because of excessive cost, it is difficult for students to go abroad. The teaching staff is seventeen. The project “teaching foreign languages for a better future” is part of a plan to improve the quality of teaching and aid the implementation of the bilingual programme. The principal objective is to focus on language learning from a hands-on, cooperative and integrated approach. It will allow us to achieve much greater results measured in terms of students´ communicative competency. For this purpose, we propose the professional development of both foreign languages taught in the school (English and French). The project pursues other goals that will help achieve the principal objective: • Encourage cooperative work, • Help teachers to motivate their students • Participate in collaborative European projects • Develop a methodology of basic competency • Develop an enterprising culture starting in the classroom. The proposed activities are fundamental to the realization of the stated goals. The impacts of our program will be reflected in the work of our students, and in the improvement of language skills in both the bilingual section and in non-bilingual foreign language classes. The project´s results will be presented to the educational bodies of the province and autonomous community across, online educational platforms such as etwinning, on social media, and across different educational media specializing in foreign language learning.
