The strategic orientation of our technical college is to adapt to an increasingly international environment of businesses as our students will work more and more in international companies.
This requires a higher command of English skills as well as a solid cross-cultural competence for the teachers and the students.
Thus teaching staff want to expand their knowledge base for preparing courses in English, and for setting up optimal CLIL-Lessons.
Furthermore the Austrian Ministry of education demands CLIL being an essential part of the curriculum and plans to introduce the centralised final exam.
Therefore we realised the necessity to establish a European network with schools to share ideas, quality standards, best practices and the spread of knowledge. In accordance with our teachers we decided that some of them should participate in the mutual effort to support the establishment of a European identity and to join European countries and cultures. The potential long term benefit is that ee expect an increased asset for our organisation in terms of a sustainable language competence. And for our students a competitive advantage for the European labor market.
