Our school (NMS Schwertberg) intends to enlarge and structure CLIL more efficiently. Apart from science it should be used also in humanities and arts. I hope to acquire additional competence and to learn up-to-date methodology as well as support in the field of learner training techniques. Another aim is widening my personal and professional horizon through contacts with colleagues from other European countries. Preparation, design and evaluation of teaching materials is another important point not to forget the question of assessment in the CLIL classroom. As a participant with experience for already many years I feel that self motivation is an essential aspect not only for me but also for my students. I myself am convinced of the idea of Europe and it is a concern of mine to convey this European feeling to my students. The implementation of CLIL seems to be a substantial possibility to achieve this aim. CLIL stills the students' fears of using the foreign language, which is the precondition for multicultural communication and which also encourages the students' future mobility in modern Europe. Being held in Exeter the course offers the opportunity to gather a variety of experiences in the linguistic and cultural fields, which can only be authentic in an English speaking country. This is achieved by various classroom sessions reacting to ClIL teachers' needs, excursions and the accommodation with host families. The lessons can be organized more lively and attractively if these experiences are implemented. Thus it should be possible to teach the foreign language more realistically and more authentically. To sum up it can be said that by attending the course and by passing on the acquired knowledge to my collegues, it should be possible to offer the students a better access to modern Europe. In this way the students' chances for the future should be improved substantially. As for me I will enjoy teaching more and pass on this feeling to my students.
