Adaptation of handicapped people to social life is still ongoing problem in Turkey. Our institution set as goal development of “ the adaptation to social life of handicapped individuals “ in our 2014-2019 strategic plan in order to solve the problem of handicapped individuals who attend a school in our city. It was decided by our Strategic Development Plan team to examine the implementation of European countries which are advanced in this area to improve our weaknesses side. What different things, those countries are doing from us in the educational systems so individuals with handicapped so well integrated into society. We aim to make investigations in the European dimension, examine different methods and techniques used in social skills training for handicapped individuals education (drama, music, art activities,…….. etc.), observe the applicability of the curriculum in our country and to share our experience that we will gain, with the educators in our city. Using different methods and techniques in the training of people with disabilities and also an environment can be created so they will be more active in the learning process and they will learn having fun .Using these methods (drama, music and art activities, etc.).in special education, educational and social skills training areas can be easily achieved for the students with disabilities transferring the things that they learn to their daily lives. We believe that observing good implementations of integration and socialization of a handicapped individuals in Europe and methods and techniques will support and reinforce our studies and gain different perspectives and contribute to better examples application and produce alternative methods in our country. Examining different teaching methods used in education of handicapped individuals in the work place and observing our colleagues while applying these methods will significantly contribute to us as professionals. What kind of different activities from our country in their curriculum are held for socialization of people with disabilities will be determined. In addition to these reflection of cross-cultural differences in the implementation of special education will be observed. All of these observation; learning of the theoretical and practical application, used methods / education modules will allow transferring by analyzing .Examples studies, methods used in social skills training in learning and teaching will be planned and discussed how to apply the teaching process in our country with collaboration of Black sea Technical University Fatih Faculty of Education Department of Special Education .Participants will apply their experience, in pilot private educational institutions, by illustrating .It will be samples for the whom has resistance to applications of different teaching methods for special education in our country .The information transferred from the project may shed light on the different projects to improve this area. Furthermore this idea can be developed to create social awareness. The results of participants observations will be submitted to Ministry of Education, Special Education and Guidance Services. It will contribute to the project "special education improvement" carried out by National Ministry of Education . Thus, alternative methods used in special education can create awareness in all members of education. Observation trip to Europe will be carried out by 24 participants who are from Guidance and Research Centre Counselor in Trabzon, the department of Intellectual disabilities, experts who graduated 4 –year university or have a master degree From the field of special education ; practitioners who are running tests in the field of Mentally Handicapped; experts who graduated 4 –year university or have a master degree and whom participated in the certification program of the Contemporary Drama Association and volunteers who are working in associations and non-governmental organizations and have a mission of social integration of people with disabilities. Our participants will be composed of the experts who participate the seminar programs to develop themselves in their areas , like researching and applying innovative methods in education, have intermediate level of foreign language. Our project is an adult education staff mobility project and it is planned to be four weeks with two mobility. The first mobility will be held by 12 participants between 23.01.2016-06.02.2016 in Braga in Portugal "CERCI" institution. The second mobility will be carried out by 12 participants in Stockholm in Sweden "Stockholm RHRG Gymnasium" between 02-07-2016-16-07-2016. The project will involve two mobility with 24 participants.
