The volunteer would bring a European dynamic to our association, in tune with the educational project of the school (the gradual geographical approach : city, region, country, Europe as a whole, the world, the cosmos, confrontation with other languages, other cultures). Hosting a EVS is also a step to briging a positive image of Europe within our local community. The SVE will give a visibility of the Youth program of the European Community, and be a concrete example that can encourage European mobility and citizenship. The school is located in Gaillac, in the department of the Tarn, in the Midi-Pyrénées region. The volunteer will be accommodated either in a furnished room of an individual house. She will not be isolated, and will be able to have people with whom to exchange.Gaillac counts 13,300 inhabitants, it is the third city of the department of the Tarn, and possesses numerous assets which explain its economic and demographic growth : industry, tourism and services.At the cultural level there are museums (fine arts, tradition, archaeology), an ancient abbey, a renowned vineyard.Gaillac is located on a historical crossroad, between Toulouse and Albi. Today, the A68 motorway takes one to Toulouse is just over half an hour. A developped network of buses and trains enables anyone to travel easily from Gaillac Neighbouring cities and distances: Albi : 19km ; Castres : 42.5km ; Toulouse : 51.5km ; Montauban : 50km What we would like to propose to the volunteer: A place for initiative, creativity, and responsibility in our educational projects. An experience to stimulate self-confidence and autonomy, to learn to discover the other. A framework for her personal and intercultrual development, with the liberty to create and develop her own projects. Working in a team and in relation with children is a rich experience. To achieve these goals, our association can propose a certain number of activities in two principal fields: School time: A four hour intervention/day (approximately) in the classrooms, collaborating with the teaching staff. In accordance with the volunteer’s qualifications (artistic, cultural, linguistic) and request, he/she will be able to propose and carry out one or more projects (exhibitions, concerts, workshops), in agreement of course with the teaching staff. Extra-curricular time: in accordance with the recreational staff: activities ( indoor and outdoor games, manual, artistic workshops, and so on) from midday to 14 h00 and from 17 h 00 to 18 h 30 (the schedule is given as an indication).
