Energy without borders – Hungarian and Romanian enterprise development programme supporting the using and spread of renewable energy and innovation technology (MEIT Program)
Start date: Nov 30, 2010, End date: Nov 29, 2011 PROJECT  FINISHED

The counties in the border region on both sides of the Hungarian-Romanian border are areas with outdated economic structures. Enterprises in this region are unable to become innovators due to their small sizes, lack of capital and their anachronistic technologic levels. In order to increase the competitiveness of the several enterprises in the region, it is necessary to expand the profiles of business service providers. In the increasing international and domestic competition, it is essential to be aware of up-to-date business information and to have the ability to quickly adapt the most sophisticated technologic, management and marketing methods. Neither the small nor the medium businesses in the border region have enough resources to meet these challenges on their own. This is why it is necessary to build mutually advantageous co-operations between the enterprises of the two counties. The project aims to fulfill the demands and needs of both the Hungarian and the Romanian enterprises by actively supporting the establishment of business co-operations between Hungarian and Romanian enterprises, as well as stimulating Hungarian-Romanian economic relations by increasing the competitiveness of enterprises. The target group of the project includes those agricultural businesses and farmers in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg and Arad counties that are interested in the use and production of renewable energy resources. The aim is to reach indirectly approximately 40,000 enterprises with the services (special section, information, newsletters, business guide, meetings for entrepreneurs, etc.) offered by the project.
