"IN SEARCH OF DROPOUT REDUCTION"The school "IES San Fernando" is a public Secondary School in Badajoz (Extremadura) where the following education is thought: Secondary EducationHigh school day and night in the modalities of "Science and technology" and "Humanities and social sciences"Elementary Vocational Training: "Restaurant Assistant"Vocational Training: "Cooking and Restoration"Vocational Training: "Restoration Service"Higher Education: "Travel Agency and Events Management"Higher Education: "Cooking's Running"It has 93 teachers and there're 916 students. Our school has 50 years of experience. Since its beginnings, it has gone after their pupils's integral development and it has promoted their teachers' professional development.At present, the centre takes part in a lot of activities and projects:- Since the school year 2013-2014, there is a Bilingual Section in English.- There is a Radio Project since last year, by which different groups of pupils and teachers carry out some activities.- This year we have started working on the Linguistic Project of IES "SAN FERNANDO" for the purpose of improving pupils' linguistic competence. In addition, our school contribute to this competence through the School Library, and it takes part of the School Libraries Network (REBEX) since the school year 2008-2009.- Our school has been participating for eight years in Europeans Projects, for the student body of the Professional Training.One of the aims of the present project is to continue with the modernization and internationalization process of our school by promoting since the Secondary Education the development of an European space in continuing education, and intercultural sensitivity, fosting the education and training international dimensión; and doing an open school, connected to the world and to others education centres, which allows to apply new methodologies through the teachers' professional development and drive the use of ITC and languages learning, in order to contribute to the key competences, assisting the dropout reduction, especially at Maths, which is the subject with the highest number of failures, according to the results of the last four years.Four teachers will participate in the different mobility activities, which will be developed during the school year 2016-2017:* 2 training courses:-"INTEGRATING ICT AND NEW TECHNOLOGIES INTO TEACHING AND EDUCATION", that will take place in Bologna / Palermo (Italy) for seven days, whose aim is the improvement of the teacher's digital competence, to promote the use of tools ITC in the teaching practise. -“INTERACTIVE TEACHING - USING EDUCATIONAL GAMES AND NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN ORDER TO ENHANCE LEARNER'S MOTIVATION”, that will be celebrated in Konstanz (Germany) for seven days. To the end of the course, the teacher will have got some skills in order to design materials that are both motivating and enjoyable by using interactive activities. The teachers who will do the courses will be the ones who had expressed their suggestions during the elaboration of this project, and they need to improve their digital competence and methodological strategies.* Two teachers will experiment a JOB SHADOWING at the school "SZKOLA PODSTAWOWA nr 94 im. I MARSZALKA POLSKI JOZEFA PILSUDSKIEGO", in Warsaw (Poland). The participatings selection of this activity will focus on the following rules: teacher with linguistic competence in English, Maths teachers, teacher with responsability and leadership about one of the projects carried out at the school.In relation to the impact, we hope the participating teachers will get a greater professional development, by improving their digital and linguistic competences, and their teaching strategies so that new methodologies will be implemented into the different departaments' programmings, in order to increase our pupils' motivation to the teaching-learning process and to get the school failure decrease, especially at Maths.Our school's participation in this project means one more step towards its modernization and internationalization process, establishing international links with other school from Poland and getting opened to Europe by disseminating the results of this project through the eTwinning platform.
