Empowering Health Learning for Elderly

The core objective of the project was to develop and test a Training System (EHLE), aimed at providing both professionals and volunteers with appropriate knowledge and tools in order to teach older people how to understand health-related information as well as healthy lifestyle messages. The outputs of the project activities were:
• A Training Concept structured into 5 + 1 “knowledge modules” addressing the following issues regarding healthy lifestyles: Food and Nutrition (culturally based), Pharmaceutical (consumer oriented), Physical activity, Daily Habits (tobacco, alcohol etc), Emotional Health, Patient Communication.
• A Training Toolbox produced on the basis of the Training Concept, distributed in the Partners’ territory to all the people working directly with elderly people.
