Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The main concern of the 1st EPAL NEAS IONIAS MAGNISIAS is to give the students those skills and competences in order to improve their career prospects and their personal development and growth. Today's students and tomorrow's working citizens therefore need a strengthening of their knowledge and skills in order to seek and obtain better jobs, in the future. We believe that our students, implementing innovative actions and using applied technology in modern enterprises will expand their education, and finally achieve their goals. Additionally, the program seeks to improve our students’ creativity, adaptability, cooperation, initiative and options management. Furthermore, the development of communication skills in personal and professional level will help our students seek and claim the best possible conditions for their professional rehabilitation. 1) In the first part of our program, 8 students of the vehicles sector will work for three weeks, in modern vehicle repair and maintenance units, in the area of Seville in Spain. 2) In the second part, 8 students of the mechanical engineering sector and the vehicle sector, will be also working for two weeks, in relevant companies in the area of Somonino and Kartuzy in Poland. The objectives of the project are multiple. More specifically, we expect the use of already existing knowledge and skills, theoretical and practical, but we also expect improved educational attainments by the involvement of the students in tasks of increased demands. The personal empowerment of the students, the strengthening of their initiatives as well as the strengthening of their motives to participate in future formal or informal educational and / or training activities are also expected. Through participation in European mobility projects, the participants gain a better awareness of the European project and the European values. They also improve their intercultural awareness as well as their skills in foreign languages and their communication skills in general. There will also be a positive impact on the local community which shall gain from the fact that its members develop and improve personally and professionally. The school will also benefit from the experiences of its learners and the diffusion of these experiences to learners and teachers. The mobility projects encourage the European orientation of the school and lead to an upgrade of the vocational education at least at a local level. Through the activities and experiences of teachers and students, the 1st EPAL NEAS IONIAS MAGNISIAS is implementing a continuous process of modernization and adaptation which constitutes, in our time, the very essence of education.
