EMMA - European Network for Motivational Mathematics for Adults
Start date: Oct 1, 2005,

Operating as a Grundtvig Network, EMMA brings together partners from 16 European countries with a common focus upon improving numeracy teaching for adults. EMMA responds to the fact that education and training providers are often at a loss to find appropriate strategies, approaches and didactical methods to assist adults in achieving a higher level of numeracy. Key activities for the EMMA network comprise awareness-raising, the exchange of knowledge, experience and good practice and strategic development, including recommendations to policy makers. In 2009, EMMA received the Grundtvig programme’s bronze medal for creativity and innovation. The EMMA network formed the basis for establishing the European Basic Skills Network launched in 2010 and bringing together policy makers and policy providers in the field of basic skills for adults.
