ELLIANT : Les jeunes à la croisée des cultures !
Start date: Jun 17, 2014, End date: Oct 17, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

The commune of Elliant, in Finistère, Southern Brittany, will host a tri national youth exchange, for thirty 15 to 17 year old German, French and Polish young people. The theme of mutual cultural understanding will be approached through quality workshops on cookery, music and dance, and also through the creation of a visual piece of art, made with the help of a plastician. Several workshops aim to develop linguistic ability, and help unify the group. We will use active methods to allow each group member to contribute, and to fully participate in the exchanges (before and during the meeting) ; to consider their own identity and a European identity. One of the highlights of the meeting will be when the children from the Youth Centre join in our activities. This exchange will also enable the young French people to become more familiar with their commune ( at certain times locals will be invited, there will be meetings with other young people…) Impact, results and long-term benefits We expect the young participants to acquire… • General informal skills (living in a group, taking the initiative…) • An improved knowledge of european countries (vocabulary, geography, history, traditions,...) • A better understanding of other PEJA activities, such as the European Volunteer Service. The success of this project will enable new joint projects to be developed.
