ELAN 2001-2004: The (European) Learning (Automobile) Network

The project, based upon the results of two previously funded Leonardo da Vinci projects (ACEA Learning Network and ELAN 2000) will further establish the European Learning Automobile Network (ELAN 2001-2004) with the aim of maintaining and intensifying the exchange of information on training and learning issues between European automotive companies.Initial analysis will be undertaken in four key areas (knowledge management, e-learning, coaching & counselling and industry/education co-operation) leading to the development of a model European approach for each theme. A working group will be established for each of the themes to undergo research, run specialist workshops and to establish a series of benchmarks, culminating in a final open seminar on each theme. The project will initiate joint discussion of an overall human resources development strategy and will formulate a common, automotive industry, position statement on learning issues.Beyond the above, the aim is to then expand the ELAN network and embark upon a series of dissemination activities, focussed around a series of dissemination and network expansion days to be held across the partnership. A further dedicated project website will be developed to support dissemination of all project results.
