Start date: Jul 15, 2016, End date: Jul 14, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Demographic, epidemiological, social and cultural trends in European countries are changing the traditional ways of treatment. In the coming decades we will see increasing numbers of elderly people where most will be fully dependent on medical and nursing care. The dissolution of the traditional family as a group and urbanization creates gaps in care for the elderly and care for people with disabilities. These changes in needs and social structure require a different approach in the field of health and social policy as an approach based exclusively on "disease" is no longer appropriate. One answer to these issues may be the home health services and in particular the home care as a viable approach to maintaining the privacy of patients in their homes to avoid the need arising for institutionalization. Training needs we seek to satisfy through the project "Education in nursing at home (palliative care) following a broad international" practiceare:1. Acquiring competences and skills in nursing issues at home.2. hiring of specialized knowledge in nursing to gain increased job possibilities,3. practical application of their knowledge in real working conditions because their training is limited to theoretical training and applications only in laboratories at the school,4. workplace experience.Through the mobility program students of the specialties of Health and Welfare and Nursing will be able to experience the technological innovations along with new and modern ways of organizing services for a sustainable solution to home care. They will understand how to provide quality health services and how it should be in home care for patients, elderly and people with disabilities. Τhe program will enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of the participants in their placement in enterprises and organizations with respect to the home care and care by performing the following.:1. Nursing assessment: detection and assessment of the patient's needs and his relatives. Study, finding and recording the factors that make up the history of the individual in order to make the required intervention.2. Carrying out simple operations such as measuring blood pressure and blood sugar, blood sampling, placement or change catheter, pressure ulcers care, home treatment (e.g. injection therapy) etc.3. Recording history and information of the physician: for test results and for the image of the patient.4. Planning imaging examinations: by checking the patient under medical directives.5. Moral and psychological support of patients with chronic health problems and their families.6. Educate patients about proper receipt of their medicines.7. Assessment and Referral to appropriate services to meet specific needs, especially in the secondary health services. The European experience has shown that transnational programs serve multiple objectives thus impacting both those directly involved i.e. beneficiaries and partners and the target groups. Specifically, the learning outcomes of the project focus on: 1. Management of medical complications.2. Determination of the patient's needs at home3. Supporting other members of the family group.4. Monitor the patient for adjusting the treatment plan if necessary.5. Assessment of the quality of services.6. Technical positioning devices for patients. Participants will follow a comprehensive training program tailored to the educational needs and will include Educational Sessions, workshops, placements in organizations and cultural visits. The host organizations London First Aid Training in England and EDEX - INTERCOLLEGE in Cyprus chosen for the implementation of the program have great experience / activity in respect of mobility programs and expertise with regard to the Health Care after dealing with education, as shown by their profiles with allied professions and have great networking Hospitals - Organizations and Clinics in London and Nicosia for the placement of students of 3 EPAL TAVROU and well-organized laboratories. The program will be implemented with the participation of 42 students (20 and 22 per flow) of Health and Welfare and Nursing specialties and the interest is very high already from an open invitation from the school and to assess the interest we gathered 90 students of these specialties.
