Ekotuki - Development of eco-support activity (Ekotuki)

The aim of the project is to develop a model for eco-support activity for promoting environmental responsibility among municipal employees in Helsinki and Tallinn. The aim of the eco-support activity is to train eco-support persons for work units. The task of these persons is to promote environmental practices in their everyday work, such as preventing the generation of waste, sorting waste, saving energy, eco- procurements, and adopting environmentally friendly transport habits, and motivating their colleagues in this. The main focus of the project is to plan and develop training models. the eco-support activity of some pilot departments will be supported and forms of support will be developed by, among other things, monitoring and evaluating the activity of eco-support persons. Positive environmental impact assessment resulting from the training will also be developed into a working evaluation model. The aim is for the eco-support model to be widely adopted in public sector workplaces.
