Ekologiczny pensjonat w ekologicznych Alpach - praktyki zawodowe w Austrii dla uczniów klas hotelarskich
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

In the project `Ecological guesthouse in the ecological Alps- work placement in Austria for students of hotelling industry classes` attended students of the Secondary School No. 3 in Wiskitki. It was a group of 24 students from the 2nd and 3rd grade of the Vocational School of Hotelling Industry. The placement was held in Austria in four groups, each consisting of six students. Austria and the guesthouse Imbachhorn had not been chosen accidentally. Austria with its beautiful Alps is one of the most attractive and eco-friendly regions in Europe. Fusch is visited by mountaineers, nature and skiing lovers from all across Europe. However, not only winter sports and hiking in the mountains attract visitors` attention. Fusch fascinates tourists with its untouched nature and village authorities care particularly for the environment by introducing a number of solutions and proEKO applications. This philosophy prevails also in the tourism industry. This is not just about sightseeing, landscape, products or cultural aspects. Guesthouses and hotels operate on the basis of protecting the natural environment and ecological applications. In optimistic terms it seems that the growing environmental awareness in Poland will enforce positive changes in the hotelling business, that should take into account the value of the natural environment. However, Poland is still far from the standards of Western Europe. Students who took part in the project also gained an added value, knowledge and skills that they could not normally gain at school or during apprenticeship. They had a chance to see how the pension and the tourist resort, which are based on policy of sustainable development, are operated. They shared their gained knowledge with their schoolmates. They also implemented certain solutions in their households. What is important and considered as the added value is that we will strengthen the environmental education that covers three areas: the area of knowledge, practical skills and the emotional realm. The culmination of the project will shape the system of values that correspond to the ecological lifestyle. The project partners were Esko Kotowski KG / Pension Imbachhorn and Local Tourist Organization of Western Mazovia . The project was planned for 24 months from July 2014 to June 2016 .
