The main objective of vocational training institutions is to provide high quality service aiming to satisfy need of labour market and clients. During the organized trainings there was noticed that knowledge allowing to use the advanced vehicle technologies and to increase road traffic safety is relevant for the drivers. However transport sector teachers and instructors lack of knowledge in this area. They are not able to gain such a competence in Lithuania, because there are not organized eco driving trainings for instructors. Seeking to ensure the right competences of the vocational teachers and instructors, to improve the driving training quality by issuing a non-formal driver’s vocational training programme a mobility project on behalf of consortium was carried out. The main objective of the project "Development of eco-driving trainers qualification" is to develop professional competences of transport sector teachers and instructors on the purpose to improve the quality of the transport sector training services. Project tasks are the following: 1. To develop professional eco driving competencies of vocational teachers and instructors by taking part in performance monitoring visits, developing practical skills and by gaining necessary knowledge and practice for improving training services. 2. To summarize experience obtained during the project and to issue a non-formal program, improving driver‘s qualification. Labor market training center teachers of Panevėžys, Šiauliai, Vilniaus Jeruzalės, vocational training and rehabilitation center teachers of Klaipėda, training organizers, driving instructors, who train professional drivers, took part in the activities of the project "Development of eco-driving trainers qualification". During three internships (in Portugal, Italy and Germany) participants developed professional competencies in eco driving training field. By improving practical skills participants gained ideas for the improvement of practical training. Participants used performance monitoring activities to find out IT usage possibilities in eco driving trainings. Project visits were organized 13-19 September 2015, 27 September-3 October 2015 and 7-13 February 2016. Hosting organizations have a reputation of a reliable partner and big experience in organizing mobility projects. Project was administrated by experienced project team members. It was a one year project. Participants of the visit summarized acquired experience and issue a non-formal vocational training program for professional drivers. The program was introduced to representatives of Panevežys region vocational training organizations which provide drivers training. An open day at Panevežys Labour Market Training Centre was arranged in April, 2016. Secondary school graduates from Panevežys town and region were invited to visit the event where practical demonstration of acquired competencies will take place. In this way it was planned to increase attractiveness of VET. Training process quality will improve in the organizations, which workers will take part in project activities. Also such companies found out possibilities to carry out trainings according new issued non-formal driver vocational training program. Workers, who won’t take part in the project, take advantage of the knowledge, which was shared by the participants. As the result the quality of services provided by organizations will improve, competitiveness and operational efficiency will increase. Organizations, which took part in the project, will significantly contribute to the sustainable environmental development by organizing vocational driver trainings and by passing on the gained ecodriving training knowledge and practical experience.
