Einrichtung und Entwicklung von bilingualen Klassen, Sicherung eines qualitativ hochwertigen Englischunterrichts aller Klassen.
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Establishing bilingual classes as well as methodological and English language teacher training This two-year teacher training project at our multicultural school aims at building up and ensuring the professional qualification of our English teachers and thus enabling them to teach bilingual classes. Because of the intended re-structuring of school organization our school management needs to improve their skills regarding human resources and management. Alltogether, we would like to send out 11 persons. Three English teachers should take part in a one-week course on young learners at ADC College in London. Furthermore, three English teachers should participate in a one-week CLIL course at Trinity College, Dublin (English Matters). Three more English teachers should spend one week in a job-shadowing measure in Granada, Spain, concerning the teaching of bilingual classes (English Matters). At last, two persons of our school management should take part in a one-week course on Human Resources and Management in Paris (ITC International). We are sure that all this will have a great impact on our students and teachers, in re-designing our school structure, defining our school profile more clearly and in improving the quality of our everyday English lessons. Being a multicultural primary school with students from more than 40 nations, establishing bilingual classes means addressing the educational needs of our students and their parents as well as raising the European dimension of our daily work up to a higher level and increasing the attractiveness of the university city of Göttingen as a place of science and education.
