Einführung des EBBD (European Business Baccalaureate Diploma) an der HAK Weiz
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: Jan 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

In 2016 our business vocational school, the Handelsakademie Weiz in Austria, wants to implement the European Business Baccalaureate Diploma, as we got the accreditation in 2015.We will offer business subjects in English (CLIL) with a minimum of 240 hours, support our students in going abroad for their working experience, improve the business knowledge of our language teachers (French, Spanish, Italian) and enable teachers of subjects like mathematics to teach partly in English. Our main aim is teaching in highest quality due to the rules of the EBBD-Curriculum and to encourage outstanding students to do their best to get the diploma at the end of their education. Therefore it is necessary that the participating business teachers are able to teach their subjects in Englisch and to share their experience and competences with their students. For preparing their stay in foreign countries the participants will attend a course for communication given by a native at our school. Meanwhile the teachers look for courses offered in the UK or other countries they have chosen and they decide in accordance with their headmaster for the best fitting courses. So the participants are fully motivated to improve their knowledge .Coming back the teachers will implement their knowloedge into their lessons and fulfill the criteria of the EBBD-Curriculum in high quality. They qualify their students for the EBBD.In the long term we want to attract our school for more and highly talented students. In the future it will be necessary to strengthen the competences of the participating teachers by further training in Austria and abroad. New staff has to be chosen under careful notice on these competences or the willingness to face the challenge of teaching subjects in a foreign language.
