Einblicke und Erfahrungsaustausch in die Beschulung von Schülern mit Behinderungen in unterschiedlichen Ländern
Start date: Oct 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Schooling of people with disabilities is regulated by law (15th resolution of the UN) but the implementation of the best possible aid, either in inclusive classes or in special facilities, differs from country to country. In this field of education it is necessary for teachers to have an intercultural exchange of their practical knowledge with teachers from other countries in addition to their studies at university. Hereby interdisciplinary teaching is as important as the inclusion of physical and psychomotoric skills, action strategies designed to encourage and develop the skills needed for every day life and the mediation by teachers. The aim is to present and improve both the pedagogic use of IKT in class and the use of computers as well as other technical devises for communication (e.g. for autistic children). Altogether 11 participants guarantee that the results of this project can be used in all subjects and all grades of our school. The term “job shadow” is supposed to mean that every colleague undertakes small teaching tasks, depending on the agreement made with the local teacher, so that similarities and differences become apparent and a topic of discussion afterwards. In upper classes the future life and work of these students was an important aspect. In Bulgaria and Turkey there are nearly no adjusted employment possibilities for people with physical and mental handicaps. According to this sitaution teachers in these classes aimed at selforganisation and individual responsibility. During preparation of our visits it became obvious that our school in Coburg has much more experience in integrative sports (with wheelchair drivers) than our partner institutions. This is why our teachers showed different activities in every school we visited, for example blowgun, wheelchair hockey, “4 ropes fishing”, basic elements of martial arts (Kae-In-Sog-In) , “ball unter the rope” or wheelchair dancing.
