EĞİTİMDE ÇAĞI YAKALAMAK İÇİN TEKNOLOJİ VE VERİMLİLİK
Start date: Dec 31, 2015, End date: Dec 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project which is being prepared by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Middle School located in Antalya, is for teachers who are working in our school in field of different studies. Our teachers will be trained in using Smart Boards with the help of our abroad organizations and will observe different educational practices of the service provider in place. Attended by 20 teachers, our project will be conducted in two stages. Training period is defined as 40 hours within 10 business days for 2 weeks. Field of education and training do also get their shares from this age of developing technology. Technological products are the easiest way to raise the knowledge as we all know, and these training tools and equipments are now in our schools. A period passed using training materials such as overhead projectors, videos, televisions and radios but now computers, projections, smart boards take the places of these old equipments. Field of use of these devices, especially smart boards', is widespread in educational institutions in our country in recent years. Since 2011, with the Education and Technology Improvement Opportunities Auction Movement which is implemented by the Ministry of Education, usage of Smart Boards began to increase in public schools. As the institution that prepares the project, we incorporate 10 smart boards. With this project, our aim is to use interactive smart boards in our schools effectively by our teachers. As an institution, the main reason that pushes us to prepare this project is the fact that having smart boards but not using them in an effective way. Using a smart board requires an average level of computer knowledge, this is not a problem for the teachers who use smart boards in this regard. The real problem is not to use the smart board in an efficient way because the expression of different lessons on the smart board requires different methods. Therefore, the adaptation of the lessons on smart boards requires specific knowledge about the branches/courses. The observations indicate that the smart boards became a material that every teacher has to improve her/himself especially if they work in the field of foreign languages, in classrooms or in courses. With this project, our teachers who will participate in the program will be trained about "Smart Board's Effective Use". Participants will also learn new teaching methods by observing different educational practices in place at overseas institutions. A teacher from each department will be participating in the program and each of their improved knowledge will benefit all other teachers. Thus, all smart boards placed in our institution will be used in the most efficient manner by all departments. Expected effects and results of our project are as follows: - Improving the ability to use smart boards effectively, improving teachers competencies. - As a result of the utilization of technological facilities such as smart boards, it will be easier to provide a student centered teaching method. - Student attendance will be provided, their creativities will be encouraged. - Students' ability for solving problems and concentration skills will be improved. - Learning and using information and communication with technology opportunities will be presented for each student. - By dint of the service provider organization, our teachers, will be able to learn different teaching methods in accordance with the European standards. - Previously experienced with projects, our institution's project management capacity will be developed and competencies for EU projects will be increased. - With dissemination activities, to increase the domain of our project by submitting the outputs to broader audiences.
