The project „Efficient Travels – Creating European Paths of Career” is addressed to the students and teaching staff at Zespół Szkół Technicznych i Licealnych in Czechowice-Dziedzice (Poland). Analyzing the needs of our school we have found the necessity of increasing the knowledge of our students during vocational training in European educational institutions and training companies, where the most important idea is studying their innovative solutions and to expand our teachers’ competences dealing with the situation of contemporary job market and the expectations of enterpreneurs for future employees in the vocational field. The project will involve 72 students and 8 teaching staff members (mainly foreign language and vocational subjects teachers) in four mobilities to Ireland and Great Britain. The main aim of the project is to improve the quality of work of our school throughout the development of the competences of the participants of the project – both students and teachers, expanding the vocational knowledge, actively participate in the programme improvement processes, gaining and widening the experience of the working conditions in European companies, finding out about innovative strategical solutions in the field of logistics, catering, hospitality and IT and in the vocational education. Through the project we would like to make our students more competitive in the labour market in their trade, they will increase their chances to find a job in various industries, they will understand the importance of studying and upgrading their skills lifelong. Extending the European dimension of the school through the project is crucial too. Establishing the international cooperation with new partners, finding out about working conditions in the European companies and their innovative approach in business in the field of logistics, catering, hospitality and IT, will be essential to share the knowledge in the local environment. It will allow to spread our activities across the communities of our town and its surroundings and attract high school students to our school. Another important objective is to increase the foreign language competence of the participants of the project, increase their self-esteem and become more competitive in the labour market.Other valid goal of the project is to broaden the cultural knowledge of the European countries both through the cultural workshops and the direct contact with Irish and British people. All the participants of the projects will get rid of the stereotypes about foreign people and will become more tolerant. They will also learn how to manage in difficult and stressful situations, during the travel, at host families or in the work place. The project is supposed to bring the following results:- improve the quality of school work throughout the development of the knowledge in the field of logistics, catering, hospitality and IT; - strengthen the motivation to learn the vocational subjects due to the widening the opportunity of finding the job in the trade after finishing the school;- the vocational teachers will teach in more creative way due to better awareness of the demands and expectations of contemporary employers and the development of didactic and tutelary competences;- the knowledge of foreign languages, especially vocational ones, will be widened because the students will notice the importance and opportunity of using them in the future job; - the project participants will broaden the cultural knowledge of the European countries what will help them to become more tolerant toward multi-cultural Europe and get rid of the stereotypes about foreign people;- the European dimension of the school will expand, the prestige of the school in the local community will increase and the knowledge of Erasmus+ projects will spread; - the prestige of the European institutions cooperating with our school will increase;- the idea of learning lifelong and constant upgrading skills will appear; - more our teachers will participate in Erasmus+ projects in the future;- other schools will start taking part in Erasmus+ projects modeled on our school.
